Snyder was a two-sport athlete playing basketball and football. On the basketball court, he was 10th in the central league in scoring as a junior and led the league his senior year averaging 18 points per game. He helped the 1957 team to a 15-3 record and co-league champions. In football he was an integral part of the 1956 football team which won the Central League Championship with a 6-1 record. Snyder lived life passionately, was committed to helping others and positively impacted the lives of many.
