As the women’s basketball coach from 1988 to 1996, Ray Peters was the first Saint Marti’s coach to lead a Saints team to a national tournament. Peter’s teams compiled six 20-win seasons and playoff appearances. His overall record at Saint Martin’s was 150-73, a 68 winning percentage. After leaving Saint Martin’s, Peters was the women’s basketball coach at Montan State University Northern in Havre, going 96-34 and was named the conference coach of the year three times. He was inducted into Saint Martin's Hall of Fame in 2004.
