Saint Martin's University Athletics

During his four years at Saint Martin’s, Meltarrus “Sam” Washington Jr. established himself as one of the best throwers in GNAC history. Washington holds the indoor school records in the shot put (16.05m/52’-8”), and the weight throw (17.73m/58’-2”). Washington also owns two school records in outdoor competition in the shot put (16.84m/55’-3”) and the discus (47.5m/155’-10”). He was a two time indoor All-Region selection in both the shot put and weight throw, and was a two time outdoor All-Region selection in the weight throw and discus.
