Bob Grisham

Bob begins his 37th year as the Director of Athletics at SMU which makes him the longest tenured athletic director in the GNAC. He started in 1985-86 as the Director of Athletics and Head Men’s Basketball Coach. Thirty seven years ago the college was a member of the NAIA, with 1 athletic facility, offering basketball for men and women. Today Saint Martin’s University is a member of the NCAA Division II and Great Northwest Athletic Conference with 6 facilities, 15 sports and 250 S/A.


During his 17 years as the Basketball Coach he accumulated the most wins in school history highlighted by back to back 23 win seasons in 1991-1993. This team along with several players have been inducted into the University’s Hall of Fame/Hall of Honor. He was the coach of the year in 1993.


In 2001 Bob stepped down from the basketball position to focus on the university transition to NCAA while shifting to coach the Women’s golf program. During his tenure as the golf coach there has been a conference champion and the 2009 team finished 3rd in the West Region the highest finish of any women’s golf team and this team was inducted into the University Hall of Honor.


Bob has two daughters Nicole a 2015 Graduate of Saint Martin’s University who teaches 1st grade in Orting and Taylor a 2019 graduate of Pepperdine University who works for a Fiction Tribe a consulting agency in Portland.
