Compliance

Athletics compliance

Welcome to the Saint Martins University Athletics Compliance web site. The purpose of this site is to help boosters and potential student-athletes navigate the often complicated NCAA Rule Book.

Saint Martins University, as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, is responsible for insuring that its student-athletes, coaches, faculty and staff, alumni, and friends abide by conference and NCAA regulations. Under existing rules, alumni and friends can be categorized as "representatives of Saint Martins University athletics interests."

This is a quick reference to the many NCAA rules which apply to our "athletics representatives." The University appreciates your interest and support but reminds you that an inappropriate contact or an inadvertent action on your part can jeopardize the eligibility of recruits and student-athletes.

What is INSTITUTIONAL CONTROL AND COMPLIANCE?

Institutional control of athletics is a fundamental part of NCAA legislation. The NCAA Constitution states that each school will be responsible for:

Ensuring that the institution's student-athletes, staff, and boosters or groups comply with all applicable NCAA rules.

Controlling its intercollegiate athletics programs in compliance with NCAA rules and regulations.

Monitoring its programs to ensure compliance and reporting to the NCAA should there be a situation where compliance has not been achieved and take the appropriate corrective actions.

Saint Martins University is proud to have your loyal support and continued interest in its athletics program. As we strive for excellence both on the playing field and in the classroom, we must always seek the highest standards of ethical conduct. We can accomplish these goals only with your assistance and cooperation.
