Saints Close Out Invitational With Second Place Finish

OLYMPIA, Wash. – At the final round of the Saint Martin's Invitational, the Saints held strong to their second place standing on the leaderboard, led by once again Kathryn Crimp.

After being the lone golfer to break 80 in the entire field yesterday at the opening round, Crimp followed up her 79 with an 84 performance. Her 163 placed her second overall on the leaderboard, only two strokes away from her first Medalist honor in her first collegiate tournament.
 
Following her was senior Madie Prigge and sophomore Katherine Swor with their 89's on round two. The two finished tied on the leaderboard as well, placing eighth overall at 175. Michaela Morris finished second on the team in the second round with her score of 86, and was 15th overall at 180. Closing out the top five for Saint Martin's was a Jada French, who placed tied for 10th overall with a 177 after shooting 89 on the second round.
 
Josie Nickerson led all individuals with her 86-93-179 performance, and placed 14th overall in the field. Hoku Nagamine bounced back strong after a 95 on round one to 88 on round two. Sienna Kawahara wrapped up the scorecard for Saint Martin's with a 97 on Saturday.
 
Saint Martin's placed second overall in the field with a score of 687. The Saints only trailed Northwest Nazarene and their mark of 663.
 
SMU hits the road to Portland, Oregon for the Concordia Invitational on Monday, October 7.
