French Crushes Two Home Runs In Saints' Sweep Of SFU – The senior Alyssa French delivered home runs in both ends of the doubleheader against Simon Fraser, while freshman Trinity Favela delivered the game-winning RBI single in extras as Saint Martin's swept 10-1 and 7-6. The offense came alive for the Saints as they crossed the northern border, scoring 17 runs on 19 hits. French hit a three run home run in game one, followed by a solo blast in game two to provide the power for SMU. In the circle, Brandi Schoessler did it all for the Saints, as she closed out game one for the save, before going 7.1 innings in game two for her ninth win of the season.

Vikings End Saints' Hot Streak - The Saints were rolling red-hot into Bellingham for a match-up of two of the top teams in the GNAC. However, Western Washington was able to defend their home turf and cool off the Saints with 9-1 and 12-5 results. Sabrina Hicks continued to provide power in the middle of the order for the Saints, opening the second game with a three run home run. However, it was the Saints' pitching, which had been one of the best in the conference, come up short on the road. Western Washington managed 21 runs on 23 hits, including becoming the first team to get the better of Saints' ace Brandi Schoessler.
Hicks To Another All-Tournament Team - Hicks was named to her second All-Tournament team of the season. Over the weekend, Hicks went 5-for-13 with two home runs, six RBIs, and five runs scored.

Sabrina Hicks Named To Desert Stinger Classic All-Tournament Team – The senior started off her final campaign in style, hitting .636 with two home runs and seven RBIs in three games in Vegas. In 11 at-bats, Hicks collected a team-leading seven hits, 13 total bases, and five runs scored. Her two home runs and seven RBIs were tied with Kylie Lopez for the most on the team.

Racking Up The WsBrandi Schoessler continues to be on the winning side of the record, as the transfer is tied for the lead in GNAC in wins (9). Not only is Schoessler dominating her opponents, she also ranks among the best in the GNAC in most pitching categories including ERA (7th), Strikeouts (6th), Innings Pitched (4th), and Opposing Batting Avg (11th).

Triple Crown ThreatSabrina Hicks leads the Saints in most offensive categories including batting average, home runs, and RBIs. Hicks also ranks among the best in the GNAC in those stats at 11th in batting average, sixth in home runs, and second in RBIs. Hicks is also the team leader in slugging percentage, on-base percentage, OPS, and runs scored.

All-Conference All CareerLauren Diuco entered the season as a three time All-Conference selection and looks to be on track for her fourth straight selection. The senior is currently slashing .338, which is second on team and 17th in the GNAC, and leads the team with nine stolen bases.

Providing the PowerSabrina Hicks, Kylie Lopez, and Alyssa French have been at the center of the Saints' run support all season. The three have combined for 10 of the 12 home runs hit by the Saints, and 51 of the 97 RBIs.

Saints Picked Sixth In Preseason Poll - Following their seventh consecutive winning season, and entering the second year under the helm of Jim Peterson, the Saints were voted sixth in the 2019 GNAC Preseason Conference poll. Saint Martin's earned the sixth seed in the highly competitive conference, finishing only one vote behind 2018 surprise team Simon Fraser. The conference looks to be a battle between the Nighthawks (61 votes), and the Wildcats (59) for the top spot. Western Oregon and Western Washington follow behind at third and fourth respectively. Montana State Billings and Concordia round out the bottom of the standings.

Season Preview - The Saints return a core of GNAC All-Conference selections from last season, including second team selection pitcher Lauren Maley. In 36 games, Maley went 16-14, with a 3.00 ERA and 52 strikeouts, all of which led her team. In the batter box, the Saints return second team outfielder Lauren Diuco, who hit .310 on the season, with 40 hits, and was a perfect 18-for-18 on the base paths.

Adding to the core is senior shortstop Sabrina Hicks and her .284 batting average, two home runs and 20 RBIs. Nicki DeHan returns at third base with an impressive .313 batting average, 18 RBIs and 40 hits.

Rounding out the returners for the Saints include senior Alyssa French, outfield, a trio of catchers in Kylie Lopez, Devyn Connolly, and Julia Lucas, along with outfielders, Regan Byrd, and Emery Norwood. In the circle, the Saints also return Jessica O'Toole.

Saint Martin's replaces four seniors, including first team All-Conference selection Lindsay Miller, along with Kim Nelson, Tessani Dixon, and Taylor Wolf.

Jim Peterson added seven new players, made up of four freshman and three transfers. Brandi Schoessler (Walla Walla CC), and Kimberlyn Tutt (Bellevue College) will add depth in the pitching staff, while Emily Thornton will play in the infield. The freshman class includes Kylee Vanderbout (Happy Valley, Oregon), Trinity Favela (Ewa Beach, Hawaii), Trinity Loeb (Happy Valley, Oregon), and Gianna Marchese (Seattle, Washington).
