BILLINGS, Mont. – A day after breaking the school record for most home runs in a game, Saint Martins used another four blasts to secure the 11-3 and 9-6 weekend sweep over Montana State Billings.
Marching their win streak up to five straight games, and six of their last seven, the Saints moved to .500 in GNAC play, and 17-14 on the year.
In the opener, the Saints' offense did not slow down one bit, collecting 15 hits, capitalizing on four Yellowjackets' errors, and pouncing for 11 runs.
Olivia Schmidt delivered a two-run home run in the sixth as part of her 3-hit day.
Britney Patrick joined her with three hits, including two runs scored. Nine different Saints recorded a hit in the ballgame, and seven had RBIs.
After a shaky start from
Abby Runyon, the righty settled in and closed out the game on five shutout innings to pick up her 10th win of the year. Runyon struck out five batters, and walked none.
Saint Martin's jumped early on the Yellowjackets in the second game, after a

Destiny Conerly's three run blast. Patrick hit her third home run of the week in the fourth inning, and
Karley Yoshioka's 3-run shot in the fifth put SMU up 9-0.
Montana State Billings put pressure on the Saints in the later stages, including a five-spot in the fifth but ultimate, Saint Martin's sealed the sweep to a tune of 9-6. Runyon was called in to close out the final inning of the game, earning her first save.
Savannah Owen picked up her fourth win after going 4.2 innings, allowing five, only one earned, and
Lexi Carlos pitched 1.1 innings in relief.
