LACEY, Wash. – Saint Martin's offense went cold from the field, limiting their output to only 31 points as Montana State Billings handed the Saints a 55-31 defeat on Saturday night.
Lauryn Morris was the lone Saint (9-4, 1-3 GNAC) to reach double-digits, finishing with a game-high 11 points. Saint Martin's as a team shot 11-for-46 from the field, and 0-for-12 beyond the arc. Despite a solid defensive showing, limiting Montana State Billings (9-8, 3-2) to only 32 percent from the field, the Saints were unable to make a run.
MSUB outscored the Saints in all four quarters, with the closest coming the second quarter, where a late MSUB field goal made it a 12-10 quarter. Saint Martin's trailed by only 10 at half, 26-16, and was still within reach.
However, the offense was unable to find their flow in the second half, finishing with 15 points in 20 minutes, and falling by 24 points.
Tierney DeDonatis and
Josie Matz both finished with six points, along with Matz's three blocks.
Claire Dingus added 10 rebounds, and three steals, and
Emily Nelson went for eight rebounds.
