10/31/2022 2:41:00 PM

Lacey, Wash. – Just in time for the start of the 2022-23 season, the Saint Martin's women's basketball team has announced the promotion of coach Jerad Stottlemyre to the role of Associate Head Coach.

Stottlemyre joined the Saints coaching staff after one year on the coaching staff of Jody Wynn at the University of Washington where he graduated from with a degree in Economics in 2018. As the right-hand man in Head Coach Christy Martin's staff, Stottlemyre has been integral in the recruitment and development of athletes over the past four seasons, including the team that reached the first top-25 ranking in program history in the 2021-22 season. Last year, the Saints had two all-conference selections before their season ended in a near-upset over eventual National Runner-Up Western Washington in the GNAC Quarterfinals.

Said Coach Martin of her new associate head coach: "Coach Stotts is a tireless worker who has been instrumental in the success of our student athletes and Saints women's basketball. He is truly one of the best in the business.  Our team and staff recognize the incredible value, dedication and commitment he has for this program and are thankful to our AD Steve O'Brien and President Dr. Bonds-Raacke for ensuring his efforts are recognized and rewarded."

Now, the attention turns to the upcoming season which will start in just over a week with the Saints hosting the SMU Classic on November 12th and 13th. Saint Martin's will take on Capilano University at 2 PM on Saturday the 12th, before battling Humboldt State on Sunday the 13th.
