LARAMIE, Wyom. and COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Saint Martin's track and field team got their indoor schedule underway on Friday and Saturday, competing at altitude in both the University of Wyoming Power Meet and the UCCS Pre Holiday Meet, respectively. The 400-meter runners for both the men and women highlighted the weekend as the Saints secured first place finishes in both respects on Friday.

University of Wyoming Power Meet
Competing with a D1 foe in the Cowboys of Wyoming, the Saints held strong throughout Friday's meet. With limited events, SMU grabbed numerous top five finishes and five different individual wins. On the women's side it was the 400 and 200 that belonged to SMU with Cree Bell taking the 200 and Alisha Saucedo grabbing the 400 crown. Other top five finishes included Gabriela Cintron and Alyssa Duncan finishing second and third in 55 meter hurdles, Bell finishing fifth in 55 meter dash, Madison Vu finishing second in the 200, Alyssa Duncan coming in fifth in the long jump, Margaret Zilla grabbing a third place finish in the triple jump, and finally, Jocelyn Saribay holding down the throwing with a fifth place toss in the weight throw and shot put.

For the men, it was also domination in the 200 and the 400. In the 200, Zachary Franco crossed the line first while his Saint teammate Christian Le was in fourth place. The 400 was all SMU, as John Farrell finished first, and second, third, and fifth also belonged to Saint Martin's, in the form of Rudu Wani, Noah Boyd, and Lance Slichko, respectively. The final win on the weekend belonged to Ryan Doidge who pole vaulted 4.25 meters to coast to victory. It was a good showing in long jump as well for SMU as Andrew Schulz finished third in the event and Hewie Nguyen finished fifth.

UCCS Pre Holiday Meet
A handful of student-athletes continued their weekend of competition down in Olympic City USA, Colorado Springs, to do battle at the Mountain Lion Fieldhouse on Saturday, but that effort proved a little less fruitful than Friday. Farrell finishes sixth in the mile run while Slichko finished ninth. The men's 4 X 400 team had a fourth place finish while the ladies version bested that mark finishing third. Andrew Boyd had the tenth best toss from the shot put circle, while Saribay finished eighth in the shot. Another solid mark was Zilla putting in a sixth place mark in triple jump.
