TUCSON, Ariz. – Leading by four in the bottom of the sixth, the Saints were unable to finish off Minot State as the Beavers came back to win 7-6 to conclude the Desert Stinger.
 
Saint Martin's (1-4) quickly jumped on Minot State (7-2) with an RBI double from Devyn Connolly, scoring Shay Lopes. Connolly struck again in the third with another RBI double, this time scoring Malia Pinder to put SMU on top 2-0.
 
Minot State managed to tie the game in the bottom of third with two runs. Saint Martin's pounced again in the fifth inning, starting with an RBI double from Britney Patrick. Pinder followed with an RBI groundout to put SMU up 4-2.
 
The Saints added another two in the sixth when Kylee Vanderbout tripled then scored on an error, driving in Destiny Conerly on the play.
 
Despite the 6-2 lead, Minot State started chipping away in the bottom of the sixth, scoring four runs and tying it up. In the seventh, Minot State pulled off the comeback win, capitalizing on an error by the Saints.
 
Saint Martin's returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 20 with an exhibition against Puget Sound at 12:00 PM.
