COMPLETE RELEASE
Fitchett, a first team selection in 2021, along with two second team selections in 2020 and 2019, earned his fourth All-Conference honor after leading the Saints in scoring average. During the 2022 season, Fitchett ranked third in the conference in scoring at 72.9 strokes per round, along with four top-ten finishes, one top-five, and an individual championship at the Hanny Stanislaus invitational. The senior placed ninth at the GNAC Championships last weekend and earned himself a spot as an individual at the NCAA West/South Central Regional in early May.
Turnquist caught fire down the stretch for the Saints, culminating in a second-place finish at the GNAC Championships, automatically qualifying him for first-team All-Conference. Turnquist, a second team selection in 2020, returned to the first team after earning the honors in 2019. On the season, Turnquist played in five events, placing top-five once, and top-ten once, along with finishing third on the team with a 75.2 scoring average.
Geissler was one of two Saints to edge out Turnquist in scoring average, finishing at 75.0 over all nine events. The senior followed up his 2021 second team All-Conference honors with another second team selection in 2022. Over the nine events, Geissler recorded his highest finish at the GNAC Championships where the righty took fifth overall at four-over par. Geissler also managed two more top-ten finishes on the season.
Seven golfers were selected to the first-team All-Conference and seven more to the second team. Western Washington's Aiden Thain was named the GNAC Player of the Year.
