Tyler Fitchett Closes Out Second Round Of NCAA Regional At 73

PUEBLO, Colo. - Playing even par golf on 12 holes, along with a birdie and an eagle, Tyler Fitchett improved his score by one stroke to finish two-over par 73 at the second round of the NCAA West/South Central Regional on Friday.

Fitchett's day began with two pars, followed by two bogeys on three and four. After another two pars, the highlight of the day occurred on the seventh hole. On a par 5, 595-yard hole, the longest of the course, Fitchett drove, pitched, and putted for an eagle to bring his score back to even par. He rounded out the front nine at one-over par.
 
On the back nine, after a par on 10, Fitchett carded his lone birdie of the day to get back to even-par overall. Outside of a double on 16, Fitchett played par golf and lowered his score by one stroke to two-over par 73 from the first round's 74.
 
Despite the improvement, Fitchett dropped in the overall leaderboard to a tie for 67th and he ranked sixth among individual players.
