Lamet Shines in Two Heartbreakers for the Saints

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MONMOUTH, Oreg. – The Saint Martin's women's basketball team (0-2) got their season started over the weekend and fell in heartbreaking fashion in both games, first falling 62-61 against Westmont before a 66-63 defeat against Academy of Art.
 
The Saints had the final possession in game one, but an off target final shot doomed them to a narrow loss. Sarah Lamet had the first of two stellar games played 38 of 40 minutes, scoring 19 points and grabbing six rebounds. She also had four blocks for the Saints. She was assisted in scoring by Anjel Galbraith who had 14 and Kiana Rios with 11. Lauryn Morris was another big rebounder for the Saints, with six.
 
Lamet was again the biggest factor for SMU in game two with 20 points and six rebounds, while Keeli Jade Smith had 20 to along with four boards. Rios came up with 12, while Galbraith had seven assists and Morris had 11 rebounds.
 
The Saints open up their home schedule this weekend with battles against Sonoma State and Chico State. Their first game is Friday at 7:15 PM against Sonoma.
