HONOLULU, HI. – The Saint Martin's softball team (5-4) were able to nab two wins in their four games played down in Hawaii last weekend, notching one against each of the teams they battled with including a 4-3 win over Hawaii-Hilo and an 8-0 decision over Chaminade. They also lost a game to each, falling 8-2 and 9-2.
The first game was a late inning scoring output from Hilo as they put across six total runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Going into the fifth, it was a 2-2 contest, with the runs from Saint Martin's being scored by
Kekai Schultz and
Olivia Schmidt. Schmidt scored in the second when
Haley Agena smacked a double that brought her across. In the top of the fifth, SMU tied it up as
Destiny Conerly forced an error out of the Vulcans and brought Schultz across.

Revenge was wrought in game two when the Saints squeaked out a narrow victory. The scoring was started in the third when

Shelby Lawson made it two when she singled up the middle and scored
Shay Lopes. Hilo got back into it with three unanswered and took a 3-2 lead, but in the top of the sixth the Saints grabbed back the lead that would give them the win. First, Schultz tied the game on an RBI double that scored
Megan Convery and then Agena notched an RBI groundout to put SMU up.

Chaminade took it took SMU in game one on Sunday, despite the Saints outhitting their opponents 8-7. The two scoring plays for Saint Martin's were a Patrick RBI double and a Lawson RBI double. Three errors proved costly for SMU as only four of Chaminade's nine runs were earned.
FINAL: Chaminade 9, Saint Martin's 2
It was a punishing finisher to the island trip when Saint Martin's routed CUH by a score of 8-0. Chaminade replicated the Saints mark of three errors with three of their own in this contest including a costly one in the first when Convery dropped a sac bunt and reached on an error, allowing Agena to score. Convery later scored on a wild pitch in the inning. It was again Convery stinging CUH when she reached on a muffed throw in the second, scoring Lopes. In the third,
Kaleena Yra ripped a double that scored Patrick. Two more came across in the fifth with an RBI groundout from Schmidt and sac fly from Patrick. Finally, the Saints made it a mercy rule in the fifth as Schultz scored on a passed ball and
