ALAMEDA, Cali. - The Saint Martin's women's golf team participated in the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex in Alameda, California on Monday. Despite heavy rain cutting the tournament short and ending play on Tuesday before the players could get through a second round, the team managed to shoot a total of 336 in the 18-hole tournament, which earned them a 14th place finish out of 17 teams.

Kelsie Inouye led the team with an 80, finishing in 30th place overall. Jada French shot an 82 and finished 45th, while Ashley Bruland shot an 86 and finished 68th. Hannah White finished in 76th place with a score of 88, and Kathryn Crimp shot a 92 and finished 84th.

Head Coach Anne Bahr was impressed with the team's resilience in the face of challenging weather conditions. She said, "I'm impressed with our team's ability to persevere through difficult situations such as the one we were presented this week in our spring opener. Even by our Pacific Northwest standards, the rain, wind, and cold was extremely challenging. That being said, I'm especially impressed with Kelsie's gritty performance after a tough first few holes. I'm looking forward to hitting the road again in a couple weeks, this time to Colorado and hopefully our weather is a little milder."

Overall, while the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout may have been a difficult start to the spring season for the Saint Martin's women's golf team, they are determined to improve and come back stronger in their upcoming competitions.
