MONMOUTH, Ore. –
Alyssa Duncan and
Cassidy Walchak-Sloan led the way for Saint Martin's taking gold at the 2023 GNAC Outdoor Championships.

Duncan won her first GNAC title in the women's triple jump as a first-year student with a mark of 12.03m (39-ft 6-in). Her mark has her ranked 10th on the All-Time GNAC list and is currently the second-best mark in the event in SMU history. This mark is a NCAA DII Provisional standard and is currently tied for 34th in Division Two.
Walchak-Sloan won her first GNAC title in the women's 1500m with a time of 4:28.45. This marks her fifth All-GNAC recognition.
Ethan Guidry earned his first All-GNAC award after placing third in men's javelin with this mark of 57.58m (188-ft 11-in).
Jocelyn Saribay earned her fourth All-GNAC award in the shot put with a mark of 12.79m (41' 11.5 inches) to earn a second place finish. Her mark is fifth on the SMU All-Time list.
Alisha Saucedo placed fifth in the women's 800m with a time of 2:17.97.
In the men's 200m, Nick Georgia finished fifth with a time of 22.06.
Andrew Boyd placed fifth in the men's decathlon with 6170 points.
Distance coach Matt Lowe praised on his team's performance with, "it's a difficult endeavor to qualify for the conference championships, then once you're there it's another challenging endeavor to be competition ready both mentally and physically. Our squad has proven to be capable of achieving both, and the results show just that. We're extremely proud of the commitment from our athletes throughout the year in preparation for this particular weekend."
The Saints look forward to Tuesday, March 16th, which is when the selections to be announced for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held in Pueblo, Colorado on May 24-27th.
