LACEY, WA — The Saints Women's Golf team has built momentum going into the back half of their fall schedule, including multiple impressive invitational performances and a dual match win against a conference opponent.

The Saints kicked off their season with an exceptional performance at the home-hosted Grisham Memorial Shootout, firing a 302/300 to finish one stroke out of second place. Multiple Saints would make a statement, with Ashley Bruland notching a top-five finish and Kelsie Inouye scoring in the top ten. Freshman Hailey Blancas would post counting scores all tournament long, including a 74 in the final round. Senior Hannah White would finish the Shootout with her best collegiate score to date. Just a couple of days later, the Women's Golf team would travel up to Canada to compete in the True North Classic, where White would once again impress with a top-20 finish in more challenging weather conditions.

Following their first two contests, SMU Women's Golf would compete in Seattle University's Pat Lesser-Harbottle Invitational at Tacoma Country & Golf Club for the first time. Inouye and Bruland would headline the team's efforts during the tournament as Kelsie's round-two even-par of 72 and Ashley's 77 in the final round would serve as great highlights as the team headed into October.

After a well-deserved couple of weeks off, the Women's Golf team would head north to the Druid's Glen Golf Club in Covington, Washington, where they would compete in their first dual of the season against GNAC foe Seattle Pacific. The team would win the dual 301-316 thanks to the efforts of Inouye and White, who both shot a dual-best 73 on the day, while Bruland would follow closely behind with a score of 77. Jade Rebelo and Abby Roll would each score 78, Blancas would record an 82, and Sabrina Poole would finish the day with an 85.

The Saints will travel to Hawai'i to compete in the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate and Hawai'i Pacific University Shark Shootout next week.
