OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Spring golf season is underway and the Saint Martin's men's golf team is off to a victorious start with a 279-300 match play win over Pacific Lutheran University.
Nick Ennis was the individual champion in the "Saints Ryder Cup," shooting a 65.
Behind Ennis and his winning performance,
Kyle Erwin got second with a 68 round.
Ethan Finau was third overall with a 71, and
Max Turnquist shot a 75.
"It was nice to get the competitive juices flowing this early in the season," said Head Coach Zach Dietz, "The guys have been putting in the work and it showed, there wasn't much rust to shake off. I'm proud of Nick for a great spring debut firing a 65 right out of the gate. I think this will give us some confidence going to our next tournament hosted by San Bernadino."
The Saints now have two weeks off before a trip to California, where they participate in the Battle in the Desert on February 26-28. The event will be at the Ram Hill Golf Club in Borrego Springs, California.
