The Saints are marching south to the state of Oregon over the next couple days to compete in nationally-renowned meets in an effort to qualify for the NCAA National Championships.

Three Saints will be competing tonight, May 3, at the University of Oregon in the Oregon Twilight. Gabriela Cintron is aiming to hit a personal-best in the 100m hurdles and surpass her mark from the 2023 Wildcat Open, where she clocked in at 14.79 seconds. Kainalu Pagente is reaching for the record books in the 800m, and if he does successfully reach a school-record mark, he would also punch his ticket to Nationals. Cassidy Walchak-Sloan will also be looking to improve her national-qualifying time as she will compete in the 1500m. Competition will begin in Eugene at 4:00 PM PST.

Tomorrow on Saturday, May 4, Timmy Higgins and Noe Ortega will be competing in the Portland Twilight race at Lewis & Clark College against some of the best runners in the Pacific Northwest. Higgins is running the 800m to break the 1:56 barrier needed to qualify for the GNAC Championships, while Ortega is aiming for a 4:00 mark in the 1500m to get a bump in the conference rankings. They will be joined by Elijah Dale, who is attempting to break into the top 16 in the 3000m steeplechase to go to the conference championships.

You can find results and more information for the Oregon Twilight here and Portland Twilight here. The GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place in Ellensburg, WA on Friday May 10 through Saturday, May 11 and the NCAA National Championships will be held in Emporia, KS from Thursday, May 23 through Saturday, May 25.
