COEUR D'ALENE, Ida. — The Saint Martin's Women's Golf team competed in the GNAC Women's Golf Championships out in Idaho, concluding a great season for many competitors and highlighting the team's NCAA DII West Regional Qualifier.

The team was faced with harsh weather conditions to open the first round, but many Saints prevailed as the tournament went on. Hannah White, the team's lone senior, posted the lowest score of round one for SMU with a 79 (+7) and wrapped up round two with a 78 (+6), finishing in 13th place individually. Head Coach Anne Bahr noted White's contributions and was happy to see her end her career on a high note:

"There were a lot of positives following our performance in Coeur d'Alene. Hannah White finished on a high note with two rounds in the 70's for her final performance as a Saint. I can't thank her enough for all of her hard work and dedication to our team these last four years. She played extremely well during round one in particular with the challenging weather conditions."

White would only be outdone on the Saint Martin's side by Kelsie Inouye, who rebounded from a score of 81 (+9) in round one by posting an impressive 72 (E) on the second day, securing an eighth-place finish in the process with a final score of 153 (+9). Ashley Bruland would also have a good showing in the back half of the tournament, climbing to 14th place individually with a final score of 158 (+14) after an impressive closing stretch. Coach Bahr spoke on both Saints and how their determination was on full display through both days of competition:

"Ashley Bruland's game came together as she played her final nine holes in 2-under par. She has been working a lot on mentality and game management this spring, and I was so proud of her for continuing to grit through her round and finish the tournament on a high note. Kelsie's final-round 72 was one of the best performances she's had all year; she hit the right golf shots when she needed to."

Hailey Blancas and Jade Rebelo rounded out the lineup for Saint Martin's, providing crucial support in multiple facets. They would individually finish tied-24th and 26th, respectively, and close out what was a great season for both competitors. The team overall placed fourth out of six programs in a competitive field and showcased the strides the program has made during the athletic year, which Coach Bahr feels will help build momentum for next season:

"Overall, it was a monumental year for our women's team, and I can't thank the ladies enough for all of their hard work. Everyone had a hand in making this year as special as it was, and I am so proud of our starting five for finishing on a high note. Each of them lowered their round 2 scores from round one at GNAC's, which was the first time that's happened this season, and they should all be holding their heads high after the incredible year the team has had."

Following an impressive effort in the GNAC Championships, Inouye was rewarded for her efforts this season by grabbing the fourth seed as an individual in the Division II West Regional, where she will compete against five other top-tier competitors. She marks the program's first regional qualifier since 2016, adding another accomplishment to her historic season. Inouye will compete at the NCAA Division II West Regional in Amarillo, Texas, on Monday, May 5th, through Wednesday, May 7th as an individual.
