AMARILLO, Tex. — Saint Martin's Women's Golf was represented at the NCAA Division II West Regional Tournament by
Kelsie Inouye, already off the back of a historic 2024-2025 campaign. She would be the program's first regional qualifier in almost a decade and was up to the challenge against the area's top competition.
The first round would see Inouye match par through a good set of the course, but would find a couple of bogeys down the stretch to finish the day at a respectable mark of 77 (+6). Weather would be a factor throughout the entire weekend, with stormy conditions causing delays, schedule changes, and less-than-ideal conditions for competitors, but Inouye continued to keep pace as the tournament progressed.
The second round would be halted due to harsh weather conditions, and the final two rounds would be played on the same day to wrap up the tournament. Even so, Inouye posted her best round of the entire contest to open Wednesday's competition, hitting par at 71 with multiple birdies along the way. She would finish at 74 strokes (+3) in the third round to finish tied for 16th place overall, and second among the six individual competitors at the tournament in an extremely impressive finish. Inouye's final mark would be a combined score of 222 (+9), capping off a record-setting season for both herself and Saint Martin's Golf as a whole.
Head Coach
Anne Bahr sung Inouye's praises following her top-20 finish and looks forward to using this experience for next season:
"[Kelsie] played so steady, hit the ball phenomenally, and handled the weather delays and challenging conditions with grace. We couldn't have asked for a better week in the end, It was a treat to get to walk the fairways with her! It was a great experience, and I learned a lot about what it takes to compete at regionals. We'll work to be back next year!"
Saint Martin's Golf will be back in action in the fall for both the Men's and Women's teams, both led by Coach Bahr.
