SHERIDAN, Wyo. — The Saint Martin's Women's Golf team opened its 2025 season at the Travis Roy Memorial Invitational in Sheridan, Wyoming. The Saints competed across the two-day competition, which featured 12 schools.
The Saints finished eighth in the team standings with a team score of 643 (+67), with golfers Payten Baca, Hailey Blancas, Ashley Bruland, Kelsie Inouye, and Abby Roll competing for SMU.
"Overall I'm proud of how the team played this week," Head Coach Anne Bahr said. "It's always important to see how the first tournament goes and make adjustments in practice moving forward."
Day 1
The Saints concluded Day 1 of the two-day competition in eighth place as a team with a team score of 323 (+35).
Individually, Ashley Bruland led the way for the Saints after the first day of competition with a score of 73 (+1), ranking tied-for-sixth out of 60 golfers.
Kelsie Inouye recorded a 78 (+6) to rank 18th after Day 1. Hailey Blancas stood at 37th, hitting an 84 (+12).
Day 2
On Day 2, Bruland hit a 78 (+6), bringing her total score to 151 (+7) and securing a tie for 11th place out of 60 golfers.
"I'm really impressed with Ashley Bruland's game," Bahr said. "She put in a lot of work over the summer to start strong in round one, and then grit through round two while not feeling her best."
Inouye totaled a score of 79 (+7) in the second day of action, accumulating a total score of 157 (+13) and placing 23rd overall.. Blancas hit an 81 (+9) to finish with a score of 165 (+21) to place 35th.

Next up, Saint Martin's Women's Golf will host the Bob Grisham Memorial at The Home Course in DuPont, Washington Sept. 22-23. The Men's Golf team will start off the season at home as well, hosting the SMU Bishop Invitational at The Home Course on Sept. 26-27.
"Looking forward to hosting the women and men at home next week for our next event!" Bahr said.
