CHADRON, Neb. — The Saint Martin's Volleyball program split day two of the Eagle Classic, defeating Black Hills State in three sets and falling to Augustana.
Game 1: Saint Martins 3, Black Hills State 0
How it Happened
- Saint Martin's jumped out to an 8-3 lead early on in the set, en route to leading for the entirety of the set. The Saints hit .235 in the frame and held a 13-9 advantage in kills.
- The Saints hit .280 in the second set, their best hitting percentage of the match. After SMU for the early stages of the set, Black Hills State embarked on a big run to recapture a 23-21 lead. The Saints responded with a 4-2 run to close out the set and win 27-25.
- After a close start to the third set, the Saints embarked on an 8-0 run to put SMU up 18-9. Black Hills State rallied to come within 23-21, but the Saints earned the last two points off a kill from Emmy Hansen and ace by Mia Arambula to win 25-21.

How it Happened
- Augustana led 16-9 midway through the first set, before Saint Martin's managed to cut the lead to 22-20. The Saints did not make up any further ground, falling 25-21. SMU hit .219 and Augustana went .296.
- Saint Martin's suffered its worst set in the second frame, falling 25-11.
- Despite 10 kills in the third set, Saint Martin's lost a narrow 25-19 set to fall 0-3 to Augustana.
