SEATTLE, Wash. — The Saint Martin's Track & Field program competed in its second meet of the indoor season, competing at the UW Preview on Jan.16-17.
The Saints had a strong showing, headlined by a new program record for the indoor pole vault by Ryan Doidge. Along with Doidge, five other Saints recorded program top-10 marks across the two-day meet.
How It Happened
- In the men's pole vault invite section, senior Ryan Doidge cleared 4.82 meters in two tries, before clearing 4.67 meters in one try. Doidge then cleared a program-record 4.82 meters in one try, surpassing Matt Dehan's mark of 4.80 meters set in 2015.
- In Friday's men's 3,000 meters, senior Noe Ortega clocked in at 8:36.63, a mark that ranks fourth all-time in Saint Martin's program history.
- In the men's shot put, Zachary Mandlin threw a distance of 12.73 meters, a mark that ranks sixth all-time for the Saints.
- Lamarcus Hinton set a new career-best in the men's triple jump, leaping 13.04 meters. His mark ranks seventh all-time in the Saint Martin's record book.
- Kekaihulali Halpern set the No. 8 all-time Saint Martin's mark in the women's mile, finishing with a time of 5:16.23.
- Across the two-day meet, the Saints saw 20 personal records across all the events.
