SEATTLE, Wash. — The Saint Martin's Women's Basketball team was victorious 67-47 at Seattle Pacific on Saturday, February 7.
The Saints built a strong lead in the first half and rode a stellar shooting performance teamwide to cruise to victory. The win improved the Saints' record to 14-8 overall and 10-3 in conference play.
How It Happened
First Quarter
- The Saints set the tone in the first quarter, out-scoring the Falcons 23-8 and shooting 47.4% from the field.
- A 10-0 run by Saint Martin's saw the Saints take a 12-2 lead at the 4:32 mark.
- A three-pointer at the buzzer by Laiken Hill put the Saints ahead 23-8 after the first quarter.
Second Quarter
- The second quarter was the highest combined scoring of the game, as Saint Martin's held a 22-16 advantage to take a 45-24 lead into halftime.
- A 5-0 run by the Falcons in the first minute trimmed the Saints' lead to 23-13, but the Saints pushed back ahead 35-19 halfway through the quarter.
- Saint Martin's pulled ahead by as much as 21 points, as a three-pointer by Harper Wagner put the Saints up 45-24 with 2:13 left in the half — the score would hold through halftime.
- The Saints shot 9-13 (69.2%) in the second quarter, building a steady lead that would hold through the rest of the game.
Third Quarter
- The Saints held an 11-5 advantage in team rebounding in the third quarter, but the team's shooting percentage dropped. Even so, the Saints were only out-scored 12-11 and held off any major comeback push by the Falcons.
- With 4:02 on the clock, a jumper by Kiana Rios pushed the Saints' lead to 52-30.

Fourth Quarter
- The Saints held their 20-point lead through the final whistle, as the fourth quarter saw each team score 11 points.
- Saint Martin's limited Seattle Pacific to 30.8% shooting in the fourth quarter, limiting any comeback attempts and running off with a 67-47 victory.
Top Performers
- Laiken Hill led the Saints with 18 points off 7-11 shooting from the field and 4-6 shooting from three-point range. She added two steals and two blocks.
- Avery Oaster totaled 15 points and seven rebounds.
- Jada Travis tallied 11 points and seven rebounds.
