Anne Bahr

Bahr joined Saint Martin's in the spring of 2019 and is in her seventh season with the Saints. She has been the Head Coach of the Women’s team since 2022, and in 2024 was promoted to Head Men’s & Women’s Coach. 2025-2026 will be her second season leading the Men and fourth season leading the Women.

In 2024-2025, the women’s program shined on the regional and national stages. The ladies won the SMSU Spring Challenge in March in Goodyear, Arizona, marking the first team tournament win in over a decade, and first win outside of the Pacific Northwest since 2009. The team came back from an 11-stroke deficit to win by 3 in extremely challenging weather conditions. For the first time since Coach Bahr has been with the program, the team broke the top 100 in the national rankings and was a part of the postseason at-large conversation. Junior Kelsie Inouye qualified for the NCAA West Regional Championships in Amarillo as an individual, marking the first Lady Saints golfer to qualify since 2016. She also went on to be named to the GNAC First Team All-Conference list and was joined by Hannah White and Ashley Bruland as second-team selections. Kelsie was also honored as the 2024-2025 SMU Female Athlete of the Year for her stellar play. The ladies continued to lead the conference academically, winning the 2024-2025 GNAC Academic Championship by a wide margin and finishing with the third highest team GPA in the nation as awarded by the WGCA. The 2024-2025 Academic Championship was the third straight for the team and fourth time in the last five years the ladies have led the conference in the classroom. Coach Bahr also had two GNAC Player of the Week awards during the 2024-2025 season.

In 2024-2025, her first full season leading the men’s team, Bahr recruited four transfers to join the program, two of which were named to the GNAC All-Conference team, Gavin Klein and Rasmus Tamker. They were joined by returner Carter Sheets as second-team selections. Gavin Klein was awarded GNAC Player of the Week for his under-par performance in April at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic.

In year two, the women notched three top-10 performances and steadily improved their scoring averages throughout the year. The team finished fourth at GNAC Championships and captured the 2023-2024 GNAC Academic Championship for the second year in a row. In April of 2024, Bahr took over the reins of the men’s program to finish the season where Max Turnquist captured a GNAC Player of the Week award for his standout top 20 performance at the RGJA Palm Valley Classic.

In her first season at the helm of the Women's program, she led the team to multiple top 3 finishes, including at the SMU Invitational in the Fall of 2022. The team had their highest finish ever at the GNAC Conference Championships in April of 2023, placing just a few strokes out of first place. The program also recorded its second ever Conference Champion, with true freshman Ashley Bruland taking home medalist honors in a multi-stroke victory. Also a true freshman, Kelsie Inouye, captured second place behind her teammate, and both Ashley and Kelsie were awarded GNAC First Team All-Conference honors with their stellar play. The team continued their strong academic performance, capturing the Conference Academic Championship for the 2022-2023 season, with multiple players being awarded All-Academic honors.

Throughout her third season as assistant coach, Coach Anne continued to lead Saint Martin's to new heights, helping the team notch a top-three finish at the SMU Invitational in the fall of 2021, and two GNAC All-Conference selections in Kathryn Crimp and Jada French.

During her second season, Saint Martin's reached new levels of success, with Kathryn Crimp claiming the program’s first ever GNAC Individual title. The Saints also had the GNAC Runner-Up and placed third overall at the GNAC Championships. Both Crimp, and Hoku Nagamine were named GNAC All-Conference selections. In her first season with the Saints, Bahr helped the team four top ten finishes on the year including a second-place finish at the SMU Invite. The team had one All-Conference player and two All-Academic selections.

Bahr played collegiate golf at Eastern Illinois University (2014-2018) where she competed and traveled all four years for the Division I team. She played in every tournament for the Panthers and led the team in stroke average for two years. Bahr holds four top-10 records in Eastern’s record books and captained the team during her senior year. She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Eastern and graduated with honors.

Born and raised in Boise, Idaho, Bahr competed in a multitude of sports growing up including golf, track and cross country, soccer, and ski team before taking up golf competitively during her junior year of high school.
