Adam Midles

Midles is in his second year as an assistant track & field coach. He will coach the shot put, discus, hammer and javelin for the Saints while taking on the primary recruiting duties for the throws group.

In this first season his athletes established four new school records as Sam Washington set records in the shot put both indoors and outdoors and the hammer throw during the outdoor season. On the women's side Ali Wick broke the school record in the women's hammer. Midles also helped coach Washington to a GNAC Championship in the shot put.

Prior to his arrival at Saint Martin's, Midles was at Sheldon High School in Eugene, Ore. where he served as an assistant track & field coach (throws) from 2009-2012.

Under Midles, the Sheldon Irish had six conference champions in four seasons and had five scoring performances at the 2012 Oregon 6A State Championships. Four of these were top-three finishes including the school's first male state champion in a throwing event (discus). Two all-time school records were broken during Midles' tenure as well.

A local product, Midles graduated from nearby Capital High School in Olympia, he competed in all four throwing events setting three school records. He was a two-time high school national champion, five-time state champion and two-time prep All-American. His best mark of 242'-1" as a senior was the second-furthest throw ever using the 12-pound high school hammer at the time. He also set the national high school record for longest throw by a high school junior.

Collegiately, Midles competed for the University of Southern California where he was a three-time NCAA All-American and a Pacific-10 conference champion for the Trojans. After graduating from USC, Midles trained one year post collegiately in Eugene, Ore. and competed in the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials.
