List of Accomplishments (Athletic and Coaching)

Coach Fish started coaching the pole vault at St. Martins University in September of 2009. He is a former NCAA Division 1 Pole Vaulter from the University of Colorado. He jumped for the Buffalos between 1981 and 1985 with his highest collegiate mark of 16’6”. 

 

After a 17 year hiatus from track and field, Fish started to compete in the pole vault as a Masters athlete in 2002. Since 2002, Fish has won numerous Masters pole vault competitions and has been a silver and bronze medalist at several Masters indoor and outdoor national championships as well as a bronze medalist at a Masters outdoor world championship. 

 

Fish started coaching the pole vault in 2001 as an assistant track coach at Concord High School in New Hampshire. After two years he moved on to the University of New Hampshire where he coached the pole vault at the NCAA Division 1 level in the America East Conference for four years.

 

Following his career as an engineering geologist, he moved to Washington in 2006 to work for the Department of Transportation. Since starting his coaching career, Marc has coached the pole vault to many high school students, Masters pole vaulters, and collegiate Athlete's. He has coached several high school state champions, a masters national champion, a GNAC conference champion, as well as many high placing vaulters in different collegiate conferences

 

Personal Bio (education, family, pets, etc.)

Marc has been married for 27 years and has 4 children. His full time job is for the Washington State Department of Transportation where he is the State Engineering Geologist. He has a bachelors and masters degree with several licenses and certifications. He also is a USATF level 1 certified coach. His hobbies include all outdoor activities, especially sailing.
