LACEY, Wash. – Tomorrow marks the season opener for the Saint Martin's Women's golf program, opening the year on their home course. The Saints begin the year with 36-holes at the Olympia Country Club & Golf Club over the course of two days.
ROUND ONE TEE TIMES
The field, stacked with eight teams and 41-golfers, will play 18 holes on Friday and the final 18 on Saturday to determine the champion of the Saint Martin's Invitational. The tournament includes NCAA schools, Concordia, Simon Fraser, Montana State Billings, Northwest Nazarene, Hawaii Hilo, Hawaii Pacific and junior college Bellevue College.
The Saints return two golfers from last season, led by senior
TiAnna Ford. Ford enters her third season with the Saints and is marked as SMU's top golfer. Other returner includes
Maddie Prigge, the junior, who played in five events last year, and shot a career low 80.
Newcomers
Michaela Morris and
Katherine Swor, from Walla Walla, Wash. and Wailuku, Hawaii respectively, look to make an immediate impact. Morris and Swor round out the scoring for the Saints.
The tournament will begin at 9:30 a.m. with 11 groups teeing off over the course of the day. Results of the tournament will be posted after the first round is complete, with links on smusaints.com.
