omebacks From Seattle Pacific Doom Saints At Home – A late comeback in set one and a 9-1 run in the second set proved to be critical points in Seattle Pacific's three set victory over Saint Martin's (26-24, 25-20, 25-21) inside Marcus Pavilion. Seattle Pacific got off on the hot start, outscoring Saint Martin's 6-3 in the early goings. SMU responded by taking a 7-6 lead by capitalizing on Falcons' errors and a service ace by Jordan Keane. The Saints' lead extended to 16-12 on a service ace by Country Misner, before the Saints pushed the score to their largest lead of the night at 21-16. The Falcons put themselves back into the match by taking five of the next six points, shaving the Saints' lead to one. Saint Martin's answered back with a kill from Rachel Gondrezick and a service ace by Emily Gooding. When it looked like the Saints might have the first set locked up at 23-20, Seattle Pacific finished off the set on a 5-1 run to clinch the 26-24 victory. The Saints jumped out to an early lead over the Falcons in the second set behind kills from Kamille Langford, Megan Vernoy and Gondrezick. A combo block by Langford and Vernoy with a service ace from
Hannah Neumann put the Saints up 7-3. However, the momentum shifted quickly to Seattle Pacific as they rallied behind a 9-0 run to gain the lead. Later in the set, after the Falcons extended their lead to 22-15, the Saints mounted their own comeback attempt, starting with a kill by
Rebecca Mitchell and ending the same way as the Saints pulled to within two. The Falcons sealed the set victory with three straight points to silence the Saints' rally at 25-20.
Rebecca Mitchell attempted to jumpstart the Saints' offense by scoring three of their first five points with kills as the Saints leapt out to an 5-3 edge. Seattle Pacific used two 4-0 runs, split by a kill from Nesbitt to pull ahead of SMU 11-6. The Saints pulled to within three multiple times throughout the set, and eventually trimmed the lead down to 21-20 on a kill from Mitchell. Despite the Saints being within striking position, the Falcons earned the victory by claiming four of the final five points.
Rebecca Mitchell and Rachel Gondrezick led the team with nine kills each, along with Megan Vernoy's five kills. Kamille Langford added three blocks to her season totals while
Nicolette Nesbitt recorded 25 assists. Three Saints reached double-digits in kills with

Saints Go Five Against Montana State Billings In Home Loss – In their fifth set in seven days, the Saints responded twice after dropping a set to force a deciding set against Montana State Billings before ultimately falling (25-21, 26-28, 25-22, 19-25, 15-11) inside Marcus Pavilion. The Saints and the Yellowjackets were evenly matched in the early goings, with SMU leading 10-9 before MSUB responded with the first run of the match. A 6-2 stretch for the Yellowjackets gave them the first edge of the match before Saint Martin's, behind a kill and block from Emily Gooding tied the match at 16-16. MSUB came back with a small 4-0 run before the Saints matched with their own 4-0 to keep the match locked at 20-20. Billings wrapped up the first set victory by claiming five of the final six points. Megan Vernoy provided the spark in the Saints' offense that was missing in the first set, in the early goings of the second set with three kills to jump the Saints out to an 8-2 lead. The Yellowjackets stormed back to gain the 10-9, fueled by a 8-1 run, before eventually extending their lead to 22-17. Gooding started the Saints' comeback off with a kill, leading to kills from Rachel Gondrezick and Kamille Langford until a service ace by
Nicolette Nesbitt tied the match at 24-24. The set remained tied at 25-25 and 26-26 when a combo block from Vernoy and Langford was followed by blocks by
Rebecca Mitchell and Gooding clinched the 28-26 victory. Multiple runs by the Yellowjackets gave them an early lead in the third set before the Saints battled back to tie the match on four separate occasions. With the set gridlocked at 20-20, the Yellowjackets rattled off three straight points to extend their lead to 23-20. Despite two kills from Mitchell in the closing points, the Saints fell short in the third set 25-22. A Courtney Misner service ace, with a kill and block from Vernoy and Langford jumpstarted the Saints in the fourth set, leading to a 5-1 lead. Mitchell helped extend the Saints lead to 11-6 with two kills and a block with Gooding before the Yellowjackets clawed to within two points. At 13-11, SMU fired off five straight unanswered points to extend to seven. The Yellowjackets once again cut the score to within two points; however, SMU held off the comeback and closed out the set with four more kills by Mitchell and a kill by Brooklynn Tacke.
