Saints Fall On The Road To Pacific Lutheran – Last week, the Saints traveled to Pacific Lutheran where they handed a 2-0 defeat despite Ali Koehler making seven saves. The Lutes (3-1) attacked the Saints (0-4) the entire first half, but never broke through the Saints' defense on 11 shots, with Ali Koehler making four saves. The match remained tied 0-0 into halftime. At the start of the second half, the Lutes scored the first goal of the match in the 47th minute. Only three minutes later, Pacific Lutheran connected for their second goal of the match to extend the lead to eventual winning score of 2-0.
 
Ali Koehler Continued Dominance At Keeper – Despite not winning a match yet, Ali Koehler has proven to be one of the best keepers in the GNAC in the beginning of the season. In only 225 minutes of action, Koehler has saved 21 shots on 50 shots faced for a save percentage of .808. Her save percentage is the second best in the GNAC to date. Opponents are averaging only 2.0 goals per contest against her and have scored a total of five goals.
 
Saints Looking For First Goal In September – The month of September has not been kind to the Saints' offense. After 270 minutes of play, the Saints are seeking that elusive first goal. Shea McKnight scored the lone goal of the season on August 31 in SMU's first match of the year against Cal State Monterey Bay. McKnight has led the team in shots with six, followed by Kylee Sarchett who has five shots, four on goal.
 
Koehler and Christensen Combined For Most Saves – Ali Koehler and Sara Christensen have combined for 32 total saves this season, the most in the GNAC by 10 saves. Ali Koehler has contributed 21 saves while Christensen has recorded 11. The Saints' keepers have faced a total of 84 shots with a save percentage of 71.1 percent.
 
Saints Ranked On National Stage – The Saints' currently sit tied for 14th in Saves per game (8.00) and Tied for 22nd in Total Saves (32) out of all NCAA Division II schools.
 
Cal Baptist Preview – The Lancers of California Baptist are 1-3 season and are currently on a one game losing streak. The Lancers one win came against Cal Poly Pomona on September 9, 2-1, on the road. CBU has faced one other GNAC opponent this season, Concordia, where Lancers fell 2-1 in double overtime. CBU has scored three goals this year, all coming from different players. Jordan Dow, Miranda Martinez and Desarae Felix have each scored one goal. Felix leads the team with 12 total shots while Hoku Afong has recorded four shots on goal. At goalkeeper, the Lancers are expected to start Sara Escobedo, who has played all 376 minutes at the position. Escobedo has made 21 saves on 56 shots faced, allowing six goals for a save percentage of 77.8. Opponents are averaging 1.44 goals per match against the Lancers' defense. CBU has been outscored in the first half 4-3 but are tied 1-1 in second half goals. Cal Baptist is currently 1-1 in road match this season.
