LACEY, Wash. – Western Oregon snapped the Saints' six game win streak in the first bill of the doubleheader, before
Lauren Maley pitched a one-run while the offense supplied her with nine runs to split the doubleheader on Saturday.
The Saints bats struggled to get anything going in the first game, only collecting two hits, while Western Oregon jumped out to an early lead. In the second game, Saint Martin's responded with three first innings runs, and won the game on a walk-off single by
Sabrina Hicks, followed by a throwing error to win 9-1.
"We struggled in the pitching circle and also offensively in the first game," said head coach
Jim Peterson. "In game two, we came out with good energy and played a complete game offensively. We are proud of
Lindsay Miller for getting 200 hits, it's a great milestone for her as a senior."
After
