LACEY, Wash. – The Saints struck early against the Yellowjackets, but Montana State Billings responded with five straight goals to overload the Saints on Thursday night.
Jason Fairhurst got the Saints on the board in the early moments of the match, scoring his fourth goal of the season on a ball from
Sebastian Navarro in the sixth minute.
However, the lead did not last long. Montana State Billings managed to tie up the match just one minute later, and took the lead in the 13th minute. After that point, the Yellowjackets surged away with goals in the 17th, 42nd, and 48th minute to stun the Saints 5-1.
The Saints showed some life in the second half, outshooting the Yellowjackets 8 to 7; however, they were unable to convert chances and attempt a comeback.
