LACEY, Wash. – Saint Martin's proved to be no match for the nationally ranked Western Washington Vikings on Thursday, falling 6-0 at home.
Western Washington quickly pounced on the Saints, scoring goals in the 22nd, 25th, 26th, and 30th minutes of the first half. The Vikings continued to apply pressure in the second half, punching in two more goals in the 54th and 55th minutes to secure the victory.
The Vikings controlled every aspect of the match, outshooting the Saints 37 to 1, and controlled the possession of the ball.
However, the Saints will have an opportunity to answer back against Western Washington, as Saint Martin's travels to Bellingham next week. The Saints and Vikings will kick-off on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. will live stats and video available on smusaints.com.
