Morris Shoots Career Best In Hawaii

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii – In the warm sun of Hawaii, Michaela Morris' game heated up. The sophomore put together the best round of her young career, shooting a 75, and cracking the top ten on the leaderboard.

Morris led the Saints in a talented field at the Dennis Rose Invitational on Monday, shooting five over par 75. Morris exceled on the par 4 holes, carding an even score, which was second best in the field. On the day, Morris ended with three birdies, most on the team.
 
Kathryn Crimp finished second on the team and tied for 30th overall with her score of 80. Madison Prigge and Katherine Swor closed out the scoring with their performances of 81, and 87 respectively. Hoku Nagamine wrapped up the scorecard for Saint Martin's with a 94.
 
"Individually very proud of Michaela shooting a career best 75 as she was consistent all day," said head coach Bob Grisham. "As a team, we are looking to post four solid scores for us to move up tomorrow."
 
The Saints placed ninth overall in the field with their team score of 323, and sit just two strokes behind Western New Mexico on the leaderboard. The second round is set to begin tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. Results will be posted on smusaints.com after the round has completed.
