LACEY, Wash. – The struggles for Saint Martin's continued despite 15 kills from
Mackenzie Carter as SMU fell in straight sets to Concordia on Saturday night.
The Saints and Cavaliers battled back and forth throughout the second set; however, it was the Cavaliers who got the last run to secure the set 25-18.
Saint Martin's looked to have figured out the Cavaliers, leading for most of the second set. Concordia once again rallied at the end of the set, going on an 8-3 run to edge out SMU 25-22.
In the final set, it was an 11-2 run in the middle of set that proved to be difference make for the Cavaliers as they clinched the set with a 25-20 score.
Carter capped off her week with another double-digit kill performance, ending with 15 after 19 on Thursday night.
Alyssa Bartlett finished with 34 assists, while
Giselle Benetti and
Kylie Alos combined for 24 digs in the back row.
