LACEY, Wash. – In their final match of the season, the Saints were unable to send off their nine seniors with a victory, falling to Montana State Billings 5-1 on Saturday afternoon.
On a day where the Saints honored their nine seniors, it was the freshman
Maddie Wolff who scored the lone goal for the Saints. Off of a ball from
Jolene Kvinsland, Wolff blasted a ball from seven yards out to put SMU on top 1-0 in the 12th minute.
Wolff nearly doubled the lead just minutes later, when her shot skipped past the outstretched hands of the Yellowjackets' keeper, but narrowly missed the far post.
Montana State Billings regrouped after the miss and proceeded to a 3-1 lead in just a little over a four minute span. The score held at 3-1 for over 40 minutes of action until the Montana State Billings added another in the 64th minute. The final blow came in the 86th minute mark, closing out the Saints' season.
