| By:
LACEY, Wash. – The 2019 season showed flashes of a promising future for Saint Martin's women's soccer, including second team All-Conference selection Ali Campigotto, and All-Conference honorable mention Lexi Caceres.

The Saints went 4-13-2 overall on the year, which included wins over Whitman, Warner Pacific, Montana State Billings and Simon Fraser. In their win over Warner Pacific, SMU broke the school record for most shots in the single game, recording 34 attempts. Saint Martin's also went to the wire against Holy Names, and Humboldt State, both on the road, resulting in draws.

Freshman goalie Campigotto quickly emerged as a cornerstone for the program moving forward. In her opening act, Campigotto recorded a team-high 64 saves, a 74.4 save percentage, and one combined shutout. Her 5.82 saves per match ranked third best in the conference, and are ninth most in a single season in school history. Her standout performances came against Montana State Billings, notching 13 saves in the Saints' 2-1 victory over the Yellowjackets. Campigotto made 10 or more saves in three matches, collecting 11 against both Hawaii Pacific and nationally-ranked Western Washington.

Junior transfer Caceres became a versatile piece for the Saints, playing multiple positions, and logging over 1,400 minutes of action. For her efforts on the field, Caceres was voted by the GNAC coaches as an All-Conference honorable mention. In 16 matches, she made 13 starts, including the final 10 games of the year. Caceres had four shot attempts on the year, with three coming against Warner Pacific.

Freshman Maddie Wolff led the team in scoring during the year, scoring three goals one assist for seven points. Wolff scored one against Whitman, and two against Montana State Billings, one in each showing versus the Yellowjackets. Wolff's highlight was an overtime stunner against MSUB on the road, scoring a long range blast as the clock was expiring in extras to notch a 2-1 victory for Saint Martin's.

Shea McKnight tied with Wolff atop the team's point leaders, collecting seven points on two goals and a team-leading three assists. Jessica Moskowitz and Melissa Alvarado each scored two goals on the year as well. Natalie Brown, Maia Larsen, Kendall Kemp, and Maddison Maffeo all added to Saint Martin's 13 goals throughout the year with a goal apiece.

Trailing only Caceres, Daeh Lindquist was the only other Saint to log over 1,400 minutes of action on the year. Lindquist appeared in all 19 games for the Saints, and started everyone in the back line.

In goal for the Saints was three different players, including senior Sara Christensen, and freshman Sophie Mendoza and Campigotto. Mendoza saw the second most time between the frames, logging 600 minutes of action in nine matches. She recorded 29 saves, a 69.0 save percentage, and combined with Campigotto for a shutout. Christensen made five appearances with 18 saves, and was credited with two wins on the year.

Saint Martin's said goodbye to nine seniors at the end of 2019 including, Christensen, Rose Robbins, Morgan Lord, Brown, LeAnn Phanakhone, Nicole Macaluso, McKnight, Jolene Kvinsland, and Maffeo. The Saints return 16 players from this year's team, along with a recruiting class of already eight signees.
