ELLENSBURG, Wash. – The Saints continue to look for their first win of 2019 after falling in straight sets to Central Washington, 25-15, 25-13, 25-18 on Saturday afternoon.
Saint Martin's struggled to find their rhythm on the offensive side of the net, resulting in 17 errors. Central Washington capitalized on these errors and took advantage, leading to the victory.
SMU quickly fell behind early in both the first and second set, despite the improved performance from set one to set two.
The Wildcats closed out the victory in third and final set with a 25-18 showing. Saint Martin's put together multiple small runs to trim the score to small margins; however, it was the Wildcats who found a way to clinch the victory.
Kylie Coon and
Mackenzie Carter combined for 11 kills, while
Alyssa Bartlett led the team with 16 assists, and nine digs,
