PALM DESERT, Calif. - In what could be the final tournament for the Saints in the spring season,
Kathryn Crimp and
Hoku Nagamine capitalized on the opportunity. Nagamine led the Saints in the opening round with a three over par 75, and Crimp stole the show in the second round, shooting one under par, 71, to close out the Augustana University Spring Fling Tournament.
COMPLETE RESULTS
After a thunder and lighting delay called off the first round before it could finish yesterday completely, the Saints and the rest of the field closed out the first and played the entire second round on Friday. Nagamine led the Saints in the opening round, shooting a 75, and finished the tournament with an 86 for a total of 161. Crimp had one of the largest improvements in the field, bouncing back from an 86 in the opening round, to shooting a 71 in the second round for a total of 157.
Michaela Morris was third on the team with her scores of 84 and 80 for a total of 164, while her teammate
Katherine Swor was right behind her at 85, and 81, totaling 166. Rounding out the scoring for the Saints was
Jada French at 86-82-168, and
Madie Prigge at 86-85-171.
"The team responded well to a number of variables going on by keeping focused," said head coach
Bob Grisham. "Both Katherine, and Hoku stepped up, and Kathryn played lights out with a one under par round today."
The Great Northwest Athletic Conference has halted all sports competitions for the near future, thus meaning the Saints could not finish their spring season, closing with the Augustana Spring Fling.
