SANTA ROSA, Calif. – Another tournament, another top-team score for Dennis Geissler. The righty led the way with a even par round at the Farmers Insurance Sam Proal Regional Preview, hosted by Colorado State Pueblo.

Geissler began his day even par on the front nine with birdies on four and nine. He started the back nine with a birdie, and a birdie on 16 to wrap up the day even par. Geissler placed tied for 28th out of 100 golfers.
 
Tyler Fitchett, who placed 36th, went one-over par at 72. He started two under par through the front nine with birdies on two and four. Even with another two birdies on the back nine, Fitchett went three over on the final nine holes to end at 72.
 
Carter Sheets shot his career-best, finishing with a 74. The freshman recorded four birdies on the day and went just one-over par on the back nine. Nick Baker and Kody Lamb closed out the scoring with scores of 77 and 84 respectively.
 
Overall, the Saints' total of 294 placed them 16th out of 19 teams in the tournament. Oklahoma Christian led the day at 274, followed by Colorado State Pueblo at 277, and Midwestern State at 278.
 
The second and final round of action will begin tomorrow at 9:00 AM with the Saints teeing off at 10:30 AM. Live scoring is available at smusaints.com.
