MONMOUTH, Ore. – Cassidy Walchak-Sloan and Jack Farrell led each of their respective teams, as the Saints competed at the 2021 NCAA West Region Championships, hosted by Western Oregon.

Walchak-Sloan was the first finisher for the women's team in the 6k with a 63rd finish and a time of 22:59. Behind her, Sara Sabra finished 85th with a time of 23:24. Alisha Saucedo and Naomi Hartley finished 128th and 130th with times of 24:37 and 24:46, respectively. Kya Ramirez finished with a time of 25:53 for a 154th finish and Abby Burton rounded up the Saint's runners with a time of 26:54 to place 163rd.
 
The women as a team finished 19th in the region with a score of 512.
 
Farrell led the way for the Saints in the 10k with a time of 32:35 and a 67th place finish. The second finisher for Saint Martin's, Kainalu Pagente finished 106th with a time of 33:52. Finishing shortly behind him, Michael Harwell finished with a time of 33:59 for a 110th place finish. The next two runners for SMU, Rudu Wani and Isaac Cortes finished with times of 34:03 and 35:27 for 112th and 129th finishes, respectively. Lance Slichko finished 132nd with a time of 35:35 and Steven Baltz closed out the race for the Saints with a 140th finish and a time of 36:12.
 
The men's team finished 19th in the region with a score of 500.
