Saints Honor Four On Senior Day To Conclude Season

LACEY, Wash. – Battling through the elements on senior day for Saint Martin's, a penalty kick proved to be the deciding factor in Western Washington's 1-0 victory on Saturday afternoon.

Before the game, Saint Martin's (4-14-0, 3-11-0) honored the playing careers of four seniors including Jenna Ramirez, Melissa Rivas, Daeh Lindquist, and Kiersten Madsen. After a scoreless first half, Western Washington (13-3-3, 10-3-1) capitalized on a hand ball in the box, scoring on a PK in the 67th minute.

Western Washington fired off 28 shots in the match, but only six were able to land on target. Saint Martin's responded with seven shots of their own, with four coming on net. Rebecca Garrison led the way with two shots, and five different Saints added one of their own.

SMU's best chance to get on the board came at the end of the match, when Lindquist laced a ball from 35 yards outside the box, forcing the Viking keeper to make a diving save on the ball.

Ali Campigotto got the start in goal, recording two saves in the first half, and a clean half. Soph Mendoza came in for the second half, adding three saves.

The Saint Martin's season came to a close, with the Saints collecting four wins on the season, three in conference play.
