LACEY, Wash. – Saint Martin's and Northwest Nazarene went goal for goal in the second half of the season opener, with neither team being able to find the back of the net in double overtime.
In the opening half, the Nighthawks held possession of the ball the majority of the time over the Saints, recording double the amount of shots of six compared to the Saints' three.

Stephen Murray each recorded a shot for the Saints, including one on target.
Two minutes into the second half, sophomore
Jason Aragon scored the first goal of 2021 with a ball low center on the goal, also marking his first career goal. The Nighthawks answered back in the 62
nd minute with a low center goal of their own to tie the game 1-1. Both sides had multiple opportunities to take the victory in the remaining of the second half, but neither team were able to connect on a final goal.
In the first overtime, the Saints recorded three shots, all off the foot of
Cole Mattson, including one on target. In the second overtime, both teams each had two opportunities to score, but were unable to find the golden goal. The Saints' defense held strong in overtime, limiting the Nighthawks to just two shots.
Hunter Askland faced 15 shots, making three saves, and recorded all 110 minutes.
