Overtime Goal Sinks Saints At Western Washington

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Both sides gave either an inch over the course of 109 minutes until just seconds before the first overtime was set to come to a close. Off a 20-yard strike, Western Washington managed to snatch away a 1-0 result over the Saints on Wednesday night.
 
Saint Martin's and Western Washington looked evenly matched throughout the entire 110 minutes. SMU recorded 10 shots in the with three coming on target.
 
Jason Fairhurst, in his first game back, registered the first shot on goal with an attempt coming in the final minutes of the first half. Arjun Gill and Isaac Hernandez each recorded a shot on goal in the second half.
 
However, the lone offense in the match came with just 27 seconds left on the clock as Western Washington struck a ball from 20-yards out, and managed to get pass goalkeeper Bryce Porter, who ended with three saves.
