BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Going two-over par in windy, and wet conditions,
Dennis Geissler placed tied for fifth to lead the Saints in the opening round of the Western Washington Invitational on Monday.

Geissler began the day five-over on the front nine but caught fire on the back nine. The righty carded four birdies to finish the back nine three-under par for final score of 74.
Tyler Fitchett placed second on the team, and 11th overall with a score of 76, as he birdied both the first and 12th hole on the day.
Nick Baker finished third on the team with a score of 80, followed by
Jordan Terada, and
Ethan Finau at 82.
Carter Sheets, performing as an individual, ended the day with an 85.
Saint Martin's as a team placed seventh overall with a score of 312, edging out Western Washington (315), and Northwest Nazarene (336). Leading the tournament after day one was Hawaii Pacific at 300.
