LACEY, Wash. – In their GNAC opener, Saint Martin's was unable to find the back of the net against Simon Fraser, falling 2-0 on Thursday afternoon.
The game went back-and-forth for the first 55 minutes before Simon Fraser (4-3-0, 1-0-0) managed to break the scoreless tie. Brody Thomas of Simon Fraser recorded the first goal of the match. Thomas struck again for his second goal of the day in the 85th minute to seal the match for Simon Fraser.
Saint Martin's (1-6-0, 0-1-0) recorded three shots in each half, with one landing on goal. Six different Saints recorded a shot on the day, with
Sean Selanikio's landing on target.
Hunter Askland got the start in goal for the Saints, making 10 saves on 21 shots faced.
