DENVER – The Saints' final game in Colorado did not go as planned, falling to Regis 5-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Saint Martin's (0-2-0) offense created opportunities to score, recording seven shots, but were never able to find the back of the net.
Regis (1-0-0) punched in their first goal in the 20
th minute, and again with just seven second left in the half to open a 2-0 lead by break. The Rangers pulled away early in the second half to secure their season opening win.
Jose Marquez, and
Diego Andrade recorded two shots, while
Caden Martin,
Arjun Gill, and
Jason Fairhurst each had one.
Saint Martin's makes the return trip to host Chico State for their home opener on Thursday, September 9. Live stats and video of the match will be available on smusaints.com.
Attendance for the match will be free as part of the Saints' Welcome Back Fans weekend. All Saint Martin's home events from September 9 – 11 will be free to attend.
